Ars Poetica - ett litet förlag i tiden

Ars Poetica är ett litet bokförlag på Sottunga i den åländska skärgården. Det startades 2005 av Valéria Ofter, som är både förläggare och författare. Förlagets två första böcker är: Cincin (okt 2005), och Barnens Skärgård (sept 2006)- den förra skriven av författarinnan Ofter och den senare en sammanställning av skolbarns berättelser om hur det är att växa upp i skärgården; bakom idén står Valéria Ofter, liksom för bokens redigering och sammanställning.

Ars Poeticas två böcker har hittat vägen till läsarnas hjärtan och vi kan med stolthet säga att de har gett förlaget ett välbehövligt gott rykte under dessa två begynnelseår. Vi har också deltagit i bokmässor i Helsingfors, Göteborg och Mariehamn och arbetar på att vidareutveckla förlaget, profilera oss och hitta vägen till läsare på den internationella marknaden.

Förlaget kommer att utvidga sin verksamhet under de närmaste åren och beräknar att börja ta emot manus från augusti 2008. Det bör dock framhållas att inget manus tas emot per e-post. Innan manuskript sänds in, var vänlig och tag kontakt med förlaget. - info@ars-poetica.com - Insänt arbete utan föregående kontakt tar ca tre månader att få svar på.
Böcker om Åland hänvisas vänligen till bokförlaget PQR i Mariehamn.
Insänt material återsänds endast om frankerat kuvert medföljer manuset.

Valéria Ofter är född i Budapest, Ungern. I mitten på 70-talet flyttade hon till Sverige men är sedan några år bosatt på Åland. Hon har akademisk utbildning och är verksam som förläggare och författare. Hon är också bildmakare och skribent och håller dessutom föredrag om Rom, Ungern och i ämnen som rör barns tillvaro. Vid sidan om förslagssysslorna arbetar Ofter för närvarande på sin kommande bok, som beräknas utkomma under vintern 2007/2008.

Ars Poetica Books

Ars Poetica is a small publishing house, established in 2005, by Valéria Ofter who is both a writer and the publisher in charge.
Ars Poetica is situated in Sottunga, the smallest municipality in Aland, right in the middle of the Baltic Sea, between Sweden and Finland.
The first published book was Cincin, (Oct 2005) a narrative about the time Ofter has spent in the Eternal City, in 1999. The year after, in September 2006 a new book, Children's Archipelago was published, which contains small narratives and drawings, by children who live on the outer skerries of Aland, outside the main island.
After nearly two years of existence, Ars Poetica Books is finding that our reputation is growing, our two books not only have got excellent reviews in so the local papers as in the radio and television in Finland but they have found their way to the heart of the readers, whose number is increasing day by day.
Also our homepage is well visited, in connection to the bookfairs in Gothenburg in Sweden (Sept. 2006) and in Helsinki (Oct 2006) we have had thousands of visitors - only during the month of October. At the bookfairs we have also met a great audience which by now is asking for more coming books.
The next-coming publication we plan to publish is another book of Ofter, which we sincerely hope will see daylight during the winter of 2007/2008.
Other coming projects are under progress, about which we are still a little bit hushy about. More information will be published on the page in good time before the release.
From the second half of 2008, Ars Poetica Books plan to accept manuscripts also from outside Scandinavia.

Valéria Ofter was born in Budapest, Hungary. In the mid 70s she moved to Sweden but since a few years back she lives on Sottunga in the outer skerries of Aland Islands. She has university education and she is working both as a writer and as editor. She is lecturing on Rome and Hungary and topics concerning children's situation and circumstances. For the moment Ofter is working on her next book, Embracing the Past.

Ars Poetica Edizioni

Ars Poetica é una casa editrice, stabilita in 2005 in connessione dell'edizione di Cincin, scritto di
Valéria Ofter. Ofter é la proprietaria e la direttrice d'Ars Poetica.
La casa editrice é situata in Sottunga, una piccola isola in Aland, che é un paesino arcipelaghico (6554 isole), nel Mar Baltico, fra Svezia e Finlandia.
Il primo libro pubblicato era Cincin, una storia autobiografica, che racconta dei mesi Ofter ha passato a Roma, in 1999. È un libro che contiene racconti della vita quotidiana a Città Eterna, ma anche le leggende dei posti piú o meno conosciuti da gente. Ofter cammina al giorno e la notte, amando la meravigla di città notturna e guida i lettori ai posti diversi. È un racconto scritto con affezione e conoscenza - ha preso Ofter circa venti anni d'accogliere il materiale per il libro.
Soltanto due mesi dopo l'edizione di Cincin, il prossimo progetto era avviato. L'Ars Poetica edizioni ha cercato contatto con le scuole delle isole fuori l'isola principale di Aland, ascoltando se gli allievi, con l'aiuto e läappoggio dei suoi insegnanti, avevano la vogilia di raccontare della sua infanzia sulle isole, come é di scresere in un paesino piccolissimo dove l'unico modo di viaggiara é con traghetto. Volevamo sapere delle tradizioni, la vita quotidiana, ma anche i pensieri dei bambini e giovani, come i partecipanti sono nell'etá tra 7-16 anni, dalla prima classe alla nove. L'Arcipelago dei bambini (Barnens Skärgård) era edito in settembre 2006.
La conoscenza dell'esistenza d'Ars Poetica sta sempre crescendo, come i libri editi hanno trovato la sua via ai cuori dei lettori - tutti i due libri erano ricevuti con entusiasmo dai giornali domestici e da radio e televisione in Finlanida. Anche ill numero di lettori aumenta giorno per giorno. Con la partecipazione in fieralibro a Goteborg e a Helsinki l'anno scorso, abbiamo incontrato lettori interessati e questi giorni si riceve domande dei libri da venire.
Piú avanti quest'anno il Cincin arriva come cd, per soddisfare un bisogno di un gruppo di lettori che per alcuni raggioni non hanno la possibilitá o l'abilitá di leggere. Qui pensiamo delle persone con grave difetto di vista, ma anche persone anziani e malati che hanno difficoltá di tenere un libro in mano. 
Un altro progetto é il libro Abbracciare il passato, che secondo il nostro calcolo arriva d'inverno 2007/2008,.
Anche questo é un opera di Ofter.
Dalla seconda metà di 2008 cominciamo accettare manoscritti ed edire lavoro di altri autori, anche fuori Scandinavia.

Valéria Ofter é nata a Budapest, Ungheria. Nella metá degli anni settanta Ofter si era trasferita in Svezia, dove lei ha visuto 28 anni. Questi giorni Ofter vive in Aland. Valéria Ofter ha educazione universitaria, conosce quattro lingue, e lavora come scrittrice ed editore. Lei legge anche sui soggetti diversi, come Roma, Ungheria e la situazione e circostanze dei bambini. Presentemente Ofter sta scrivendo il suo nuovo libro.
